My First Game Launch

One day, while casually browsing YouTube, I stumbled upon a video titled "How to Make a Video Game - Godot Beginner Tutorial" by Brackeys. Watching it, I was shocked—game development looked so accessible and beautiful! Inspired and eager, I decided to give it a shot.

I started with a free knight hero asset that I found online. Making it playable was my first milestone, and from there, I was unstoppable. The process was exhilarating! I dived deep into YouTube tutorials, searched tirelessly for free 2D assets and sound effects, and gradually built up my game.

Here’s what I achieved:

  • Designed a full playable level.
  • Added coins, power-ups, and breakable barrels.
  • Implemented simple enemy AI.
  • Wrote countless scripts to tie everything together.
  • Carefully chose and integrated sounds to enhance the game experience.

Throughout this journey, I made sure to credit every asset creator whose work I used. Transparency and respect for their contributions were very important to me. To share my work and learnings with the community, I’ve made all my scripts available in a public repository. You can find more details about the game, including the repo link, in the "More Info" section.

This experience has been a whirlwind of creativity, problem-solving, and learning. I’m proud to announce my first game launch and hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it!
